Would I Date Me?
There are a couple of sites where people with disabilities can place personal ads and I have been spending some time going through them recently. At least half the 400 profiles I found were devotee men and the vast majority of them were looking for women who were amputees. Out of curiosity I did a search for female amputees. I got 31 profiles world wide! I only looked at a few of them closely but I'm reasonably sure 3 or 4 of the ones I saw were not actual amputees but cyber pretenders. Compound that with the fact that many women with disabilities are extremely mistrustful of male devotees and I'd say, for men with this attraction, the situation looks pretty bleak.
I know many women and a few men have had terrible experiences with badly behaved devotees. I suspect though that the experiences of the women have been far worse. It rather makes me wonder what it would be like to be a female amputee out in the world in search of love. For that matter, what would it be like to be a male object of my desire? Would I be wierded out by the fact that someone was attracted to such an unusual feature of myself.
I have some experience in this area. I have been approached by many men who are attracted to Black women and it is always an uncomfortable experience. I try to keep an open mind; after all I have a unique attraction too. Invariably these encounters turn out to be men who are very submissive and they have built up in their minds that Black woman=dominatrix. If another man were to come along at this point and tell me honestly about his attraction, I'd probably be quite wary of his motives. It makes me sad to think that I will be prejudged by people because of my attraction but I certainly understand why it happens.

I think female admirers do have an unfair? advantage when it comes to finding a compatible amputee partner. There are far more male amputees than female because of males' propensity to loose parts in industrial accidents. Males also tend to be flattered by a woman's interest whereas a woman tends to think 'what does he want, besides sex?'. Women are also used to being pursued, so they are much less likely to post a 'personals' note on a disabled specific site. They may post on mainstream sites, but will NEVER mention their disability so that they won't be seen as 'damaged goods'.
What I don't understand is why there are so many 'faker' amputees posting disability personals. What's the point since they will eventually be found out?
Why waste people's time claiming to be something you are not?
Great blog.

Yes it is true female admirers/devs have an unfair advantage.I am seen by most as damaged goods.Yet my fans see me as cute or interesting.I have been listed with some sites for disabled persons but have given up as most ablebodied women run a mile. But thats life, now moving on.
Best of luck with your blog.

When do you give up looking ?
I am a single disabled male(not a amp)like some of my friends. Most ablebodied persons judge us and get the wrong idea. Not all physically disabled persons are in wheel chairs or are amps. But many of us live lonely lives.Thats why many of us join clubs or groups.I am trying that late in life but starting to think it may be a waste of time. There seems to be many fakers & scammers on net who try to join our clubs & groups.
Fed up !

Single disabled males view.
There seems to be a lot of b/s talked on the net of late.
Many people that join free dating clubs turn out to be ablebodied fakers and are a waste of time.
Many of us give up because of these types.
These days I take a quick look and give them the flick.

I have found it strange that young ablebodied American females are attracted to disabled Aussie males.
It would seem I have plenty of Admirers in the USA by the mail I am getting.

It takes some disabled people time to wake up that they are wanted.I am a disabled male and have been most of my life, still single at 59.
A member of a few clubs for disabled people on the net.The way I see things. You get on with life, play the hand that you have been dealt. We are not all the same thank god.I have done many things and have been half way around the world and back.So being disabled makes you a stronger person than most. Its true I have some mobility problems but there is always a way around a problem.Things are never what they seem. Most of my friends on the net are like me looking and we dont mind Dev's.

If some people were truthful life would be so much nicer. You may laugh.I am a disabled male with mobility problems.I have been stalked and have been told a load of crap by some.Thats why I dont't rush into things.I have some female Dev,s Admirers which is the same thing they think I am cute but I dont think any of them would marry me.I will most likely marry a disabled lady.
I hope you female Dev,s take notice.
